The holidays are fast approaching—are you looking for a gift for the plant lover in your life? If your wallet is looking a bit thin, there are plenty of affordable gifts in this guide that I previously posted. However, if you’re looking to drop some serious cash for that special someone (or yourself!), then continue reading through this list of upscale plant gifts!
Soltech Grow Lights
Practically considered the Rolls-Royce of plant grow lights, Soltech lights are both functional and modern. There is no weird purple glowing reminiscent of marijuana grow farms distorting the appearance of your plants. Their LED lights come in two forms: a hanging pendant lamp or track lights. They are available on their own website as well as on Amazon. Regardless of which one you get, the plants will thank you!
Wishlist Rare Plants
Plants are always the perfect go-to gift for a plant lover. Unless your recipient is already an avid collector of rare plants, chances are they may not have all their wishlist plants. My favorite vendors for rare plants (in the U.S.) are Ecuagenera, Steve’s Leaves, Etsy, Logee’s, and Costa Farms.
Leaf and flower Pillows
So if your recipient already has all the plants and tools that they want, what else can you get them? These gorgeous leaf and flower pillows! There are many different types on Amazon at varying price points. Some of the very nice embroidered leaf pillows are on the more expensive side, but they would look amazing in your indoor jungle.
Indoor Hydroponic Grow system
Does your intended recipient want to grow vegetables and herbs but has no balcony or yard space? An indoor hydroponic system is the answer! Grow fresh herbs and leafy veggies in a compact space, even in the dead of winter when everything outside is frozen. Make delicious, flavorful meals without having to leave the comfort of your home!
Plant-themed jewelry
Most die-hard plant lovers would happily wear plant-themed jewelry, so that would be another option to consider. The most unique pieces are offered on Etsy by many talented creators and at many price points. Maui Divers also has a very luxurious Monstera collection that is absolutely stunning.
Wardian Cases & Terrariums
Wardian cases and large terrariums can become a statement piece of any plant collection. They are especially helpful (if not outright necessary) for humidity-loving and finicky plants. No more covering your plants with clear plastic bags (yes, we do what we have to).
Larger Planters
It’s not a secret that nice quality, large planters are surprisingly expensive. Plant lovers can possibly get lucky at an estate sale and snag some for cheap, but otherwise, you’ll be paying a pretty penny for them. Spoil the plant lover in your life by gifting them larger pottery planters to hold their most prized plants.
Plant Stands
There’s no point in keeping plants if you can’t display them and enjoy them. Plant stands will keep your collection organized and prevent you from overlooking individual plants when you’re caring for them. Some very nice plant stands can be found at Gardener’s Supply, but many others can also be found on Amazon.
Greenhouses
Having a personal or home greenhouse (a REAL greenhouse) is something that most plant lovers dream of acquiring one day. No cheap portable greenhouse kits with plastic covers, thank you. They may be useful, but they are not particularly attractive, and they don’t last very long. But a real glass (or polycarbonate) greenhouse filled with your favorite and most high-maintenance plants? Yes, please!
Always Keep Growing,
Heather (a.k.a. The Botanical Chick)
