Many residents in the U.S. may already know that Costa Farms’ plants are offered in commercial retailers like Home Depot and Lowe’s. Unfortunately, the Home Depot in my area does not offer any of their products, so I was thrilled to find out that their plants are available for purchase online!
And yes, I did purchase a plant with my own money. I was not offered anything in exchange for this review.
The website for Costa Farms is clean and elegant and very easy to use. They offer a variety of uncommon and rare plants, and all for an affordable price. It’s even harder to resist when they offer free U.S. shipping!

The plant arrived in a timely manner and came very well-packaged. The ceramic cachepot is quite hefty and wrapped in a cardboard shell to protect it.

The plant is huge!
I have never seen any Alocasia Silver Dragon for sale at such a good price and at such a large size. Hands down, it is definitely worth it!
To give you a sense of scale, I’ve included a photo of the plant I received measured against a ruler. Yes, the entire thing is well over a foot tall! It comes in a 6-inch pot, plus the ceramic cachepot.
The leaves are thick and leathery, very much like the scales of a reptile (or a dragon!) with literally no damage and hardly any flaws. I received my plant last month and I still have yet to clip off any yellowing leaves. Clearly, it has acclimated with no issues. I’m certain that my Alocasia’s success is due to its overall health and the care it received at Costa Farms.
